2. Data We Collect

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): anonymous session identifiers, pages visited, time on site, device type and approximate country. No names or email addresses are stored.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense): anonymous user identifiers to display relevant ads and measure their performance.

Local storage (localStorage): history of the last 15 molecules searched in ChemModel Studio. This data never leaves your browser and is never sent to any server.

PubChem (NCBI) queries: when you search for a molecule, we send its name to the PubChem public API. No personal data is transmitted.

3. Purposes and Legal Basis

Web analytics: understanding how the site is used to improve it. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Art. 6.1.a) for EEA users; legitimate interest for other countries.

Advertising: funding the maintenance and development of ChemModel. Legal basis: consent for EEA users; legitimate interest for other countries.

Technical functionality: saving the search history on your device. Legal basis: legitimate interest (strictly necessary functionality cookie).

4. Recipients and International Transfers

Google LLC (United States): we process data through Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides adequate GDPR safeguards.

NCBI / NIH (United States): anonymous queries to the PubChem API to retrieve molecular information. No personal data is transmitted.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

5. Data Retention

Google Analytics data: 14 months (configurable in the GA4 account).

Google AdSense advertising cookies: according to Google's retention policy, generally 13 months.

Local history (localStorage): until you clear your browser storage or use the "Clear all" function in ChemModel Studio's search history.

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR (if you are an EEA resident) and Colombian Law 1581/2012 (if you are a Colombian resident), you have the right to: access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict processing, data portability and to object to processing.

To exercise your rights, write to us at privacidad@chemmodel.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority in your country.

7. Cookie Management

When you first visit ChemModel, you will see a cookie management banner. You may accept all, reject non-essential ones, or customise your choice by category.

You can change your choice at any time by clicking the "Manage cookies" link in the footer, or by deleting cookies in your browser settings.
